Dryer Vent Pumpkins
by Jacquie Singleton

This is my favorite Fall craft and gift for teachers and friends.  A small box of the expandable dryer vent tubing makes 3 medium pumpkins.

Materials Needed:

Expandable dryer vent tubing, small box
Orange Spray paint
Masking tape
Brown raffia paper for stems
Silk Fall colored leaves and raffia straw

Instructions:

Cut the dryer vent into 3 equal sections, you will need wire cutters to cut through the wire spirals.  Bend the vent into a circle and using masking tape, seal the two edges together.  It already looks like a silver pumpkin!

Next, spray paint the whole thing orange.  I start by spraying the top, let it dry overnight then flip it over and do the bottom, spray heavily over any writing.

Now using the brown raffia paper, cut off a piece long enough to fold in half and have it be the size of a pumpkin stem, twist the end and using a low temp hot glue gun secure the stem in the center hole.

Now use your creativity to glue on leaves and raffia for vines. I also attach a hand stamped card describing why I am thankful for the recipient!

I have friends who get one every year and have made a pumpkin patch on their patios and porches!
