Spider Cake
by Michelle Jones

This cake not only looks like a spider, it has a surprise in the middle.

Ingredients:

Two 9" pre-baked cake layers, any flavor

1 regular sized pkg. red or green Jello, pre-made

1 can of chocolate frosting and some blue food coloring paste (to make black frosting)

4 black licorice strips

2 green gumballs or candies

Directions:

Use a large baking sheet or foil-covered cardboard to design the cake.

Take one of the cake layers and cut a smaller circle out of the center.  Place at the top of the large cake layer for the head.  Now fill the hole of the large layer with either red or green pre-made Jello gelatin.

Now cover the filled cake layer with the second uncut cake layer.  Trim the edges as needed to make a rounded body.

Add a bit of blue food coloring paste to the chocolate frosting (to create black), then spread over all the cake.  Attach black licorice for the legs and the  large gumballs for the eyes.

This is an especially good cake for boys! ;o)
